It really doesn't matter whether you are a sportsperson, a news anchor, a banker, a realtor, a writer or a sales person. Even a banker working late nights will tell you how they push their bodies to the limit by staying back till late night and still managing to show up at work next morning. Regardless of your profession, regardless of the nature of your work and regardless of the type of your goal, your body will be physically tested to its limits.

If you are feeling unappreciated for your efforts in your office, all that can be said is, welcome to the real world. The human mind works in funny ways and expecting appreciation and reward for hard work is one of its core elements. If you are working hard to achieve a goal, whether in professional or personal life, chances are that you may not be appreciated or rewarded adequately for your efforts. Accept this fact and move on because your aim is not to find appreciation on a daily or periodical basis. Your aim is to gain appreciation for your penultimate goal. Consider the hurdles and challenges that you clear on a daily basis to reach this penultimate goal as a part and parcel of daily life.

"I simply couldn't get the reports finished because my computer died" or "It couldn't be done because we did not have the adequate resources" are some typical excuses that we hear on a daily basis in any work environment. Excuses, as legit they may be are one of the most common barriers to success. If you want to stand out from the crowd, you will have to look beyond these and learn how to get the job done with what you have. Not, with what you could have.

Confused? Don't be, because you will realize that failure is an integral part of your path to success. Ask any successful sportsperson and they will tell you how many times they've failed to achieve their targets. Ask any successful manager and they will tell you how many times they've miserably failed in people management. You get the point, don't you? Failing is an irreplaceable aspect of life which should be introspected to avoid making the same mistakes over and over again.

Working hard will be an understatement

We have heard and read about the importance of hard work in success all our lives. Well here is a nasty wake up call. Working hard is just an understatement. To negate and overcome all the barriers to success that we've talked about, you will need to work hard to eliminate each and every one of them, one by one.
