So CBDT vide its circular no 41/2015 dated 15.04.2015 , exempted taxpayers with Aadhaar cards from submitting their ITR-V by post after filing their returns online since now aadhar card can be used for verification purpose. This will make the online filing procedure truly paperless even for those who don't have digital signatures.
Electronic Verification Code system has linked Aadhaar card to the ITR to verify the e-returns. For that one will have to mention their aadhar card number in ITR form, and tax-payer will get an OTP number on their mobile for verification, which needs to be completed on the website of tax e- filing. With the introduction of this new system, things will be simplified and even faster.
This new system is just an alternative available in the hands of Assessee who have Aadhar card , they can still send physical documents to CPC, Bangalore like they did earlier even if he/she have aadhar card.
