This is a very good move by the Govt. This will lead to remove the favoritism done by the bank's top official to their known CAs. I personally want that appointment of Statutory as per Co. Act.1956 should be conducted by the Govt. This will strengthen the auditor's independence during the course of audit.

I personally welcome the move taken by the Ministry. And appointment should be done before the end of 2012 for conducting Statutory audit for the year 2013-2014. Auditors needs extensive home works and get through idea of the Banks past deals. Audit should have commence before commencement of the year.many things are to see by the auditors before certifying the financial statement of a bank. CA.
