Sushil Chandra takes charges as CBDT chairman

Chandra has held the post of member, in charge of investigation, CBDT since December 2015 and is said to have played a crucial role in the success of the income disclosure scheme. He takes over from Rani Singh Nair who was at the helm of the board for only three months before superannuating on 31 October.
Chandra, who will be the 13th chairperson at the helm of the income tax department in less than 6 years, will serve till May next year. (PTI)
