Amendments to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Laws

The Government has proposed around 46 Amendments to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) laws viz., the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 along with the respective State Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, Union Territory Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 and GST (Compensation of States) Act, 2017. The Government has invited comments from the stakeholders on the Draft Proposals for amending the GST laws by 15th July, 2018. A total of 1285 responses have been received on www.mygov.in portal till 15thJuly, 2018. Various representations on the proposed amendments have also been received from different trade and industry bodies, chambers of commerce and other stakeholders.
This was stated by Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla, Minister of State for Finance in a Written Reply to a Question in Lok Sabha today.
