Govt extends due dates for filing GST Annual returns, Audit reports to March 31 2019

"The competent authority has decided to extend the due date for filing (GST Annual Return) form GSTR 9, Form GSTR 9A (Equivalent composition form), and Form GSTR 9C (reconciliation statement/ Audit report) till March 31, 2019," the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs said in an official release late Friday.
The requisite forms will be made available on the GST common portal shortly.
The India Inc has been for long demanding an extension in the due dates for what is also the first ever GST audit reports and the related annual returns to to be filed by taxpayers.
The Indirect Taxes Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India earlier this week sent a letter to the CBIC seeking a three-month extension in the due dates.
1.10 lakh taxpayers are required to file GST annual returns. Businesses with annual aggregate turnover exceeding Rs. 2 crore are further applicable for audits. #casansaar (Source - Economic Times)
