GST Council to meet again on Jan 3-4 to decide on dual control and IGST - FM

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said that the GST Council today finalised primary draft of CGST and SGST laws, which are for compensating states.
The laws comprising 197 provisions, 5 schedules have been approved.
While speaking to media after chairing the 7th GST Council meeting, he also said that a few issues remain related to dual control.
The Council will meet again on January 3-4 to decide on dual control and IGST.
Legally vetted draft of law for compensation to states to be placed before GST Council in next meet, he said.
Jaitley also said that the govt is trying its best to implement GST from April 1 and that he'll also hold budget consultations with state finance ministers in the January 3-4 meeting.
Compensation to states for loss of revenue from rollout of GST to be paid every two months, he said. #casansaar
