A Kalkaji-based chartered accountant, who is also a builder, was shot at by assailants in Sector 63 in Noida on Sunday afternoon. Police said it seems to be a case of personal rivalry. The victim was shot in the chest and has been admitted in a city hospital. His condition is critical as the bullet is still lodged in his body.
The victim, Tilakraj Sharma, lives in Kalkaji area. "Sharma constructs flats and rents them out. He is getting a building constructed in E-block in Sector 63. On Sunday, he had come to supervise the construction work when the assailants opened fire on him. After being hit, he collapsed on the road," said Gautam Budh Nagar SSP, Praveen Kumar.
Police arrived and took the victim to Fortis Hospital. "Preliminary investigations indicate a property dispute. The victim had recently filed a complaint against two builders at Greater Kailash police station in retaliation for a case filed by them in Muzaffarnagar on April 3," Kumar said.
A case of attempt to murder has been registered with the Sector 58 police station against two persons. Hospital sources said the bullet travelled from the victim's chest and got lodged in his stomach. Sharma's condition is said to be critical and he is under close observation. Meanwhile, under the supervision of a senior police officer, a team has been formed to investigate the case.
"A hunt is on and we expect to nab one of the accused soon," Kumar added. (Times of India)
