GST collections rise 12% to Rs 1.49 lakh Cr in February 2023

According to the Finance Ministry, monthly GST revenue collection is more than one lakh 40 thousand crore rupees for 12 straight months in a row.
The Ministry said the highest GST revenue worth 22 thousand 349 crore rupees was collected from Maharashtra followed by Karnataka wherein over 10 thousand crore rupees were collected as GST revenue.
The Ministry said the highest cess collection of over 11 thousand 900 crore rupees was registered in the last month since the implementation of GST in the country. It added that the Centre had also released the balance GST compensation of 16 thousand 982 crore rupees for the month of June 2022.
