Police have pegged the total amount Khan was carrying at Rs 99. 93 lakh and placed him under arrest. Khan, a resident of Worli, has been charged under Section 46 (1) of the CrPC.
"His employers had apparently instructed him to ferry the money to Marine Lines and disembark there. He has told us who his employers are, but no one has claimed the money," Nisar Tamboli, DCP, Zone 2. "We are verifying a few other claims he made."
