Over one crore Income Tax Returns have been filed till 26th of this month. This milestone was reached 12 days early this year compared to the corresponding period in the preceding year. Last year, one crore ITRs were filed till 8th of July.
The Income Tax Department has reiterated its commitment to enhance taxpayer facilitation and ease of filing. It has urged taxpayers to keep up the momentum and file their ITRs early so as to avoid last minute rush.
