Cabinet approves amendments to Aadhaar Bill

Union Cabinet has approved Official Amendments to the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill 2019.
Briefing the reporters after the Cabinet meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said, the government has decided to make Aadhaar as identification document so that people can avail the benefit of state subsidies directly in their bank account and to eliminate middlemen.
He said, there are around 128 crore Aadhaar cardholders in the country. #casansaar (Source - PTI)
