IT returns Filling Due Date – Need to extend to August 5, 2014

Having regard to the Huge number of Income tax returns being filled at the last movement, Income tax Department should extend the Due Date for filing of income tax to August 5, 2014. The due date, which was scheduled for July 31, 2014 should be extended in light of Huge number of I-T returns being filed electronically.

The fact also needs to be consider that while the significant number of assessees are filling their return of income in the last week of July, Income tax website is not adequately equipped to bare that load and hence there is ample need to extend Due date by few days.

We are expecting a Notification very soon in this regard. We will update it at the earliest.

As per Stats given, Till date, 92 lakh returns have been electronically filed.  This means  46.8 per cent higher than the returns e-filed during the corresponding period last fiscal. Live Stats can be verified from E-filling Stats section of Income tax e filling website.
