Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms guilty of 30 crores' tax evasion

Bollywood producer Ekta Kapoor's firm Balaji Telefilms has been found guilty of tax evasion of upto 30 crores.
Three days ago, nearly 100 income tax officers raided the home and offices of Ms Kapoor in Mumbai.
When she was interrogated, sources said that Ms Kapoor, whose father Jeetendra is a famous Bollywood actor, said that she was not involved with the financial management of the company.
The firm has agreed to pay the taxes it owes and a penalty.
Sources say that to avoid taxes, her company had inflated the costs of its different projects.
Balaji produces a slew of popular family soap operas and cost-efficient films. Its new movie, Shootout at Wadala starring John Abraham and Kangana Ranaut, releases today.
