Winter Session gets 3-day extension for Lokpal Bill

The Winter Session of Parliament will be extended for three days for smooth passage of Lokpal Bill. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Bansal told reporters outside Parliament that Business Advisory Committee, BAC has taken this decision. He, however, added that some MPs from opposition parties have approached the BAC to review this decision. Mr. Bansal said that BAC will take the final call on this issue tomorrow. Earlier during the day, the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Harish Rawat said that Parliament will sit from 27th to 29th of this month to pass the Lokpal Bill, Whistle Blower Protection Bill and Judicial Accountability Bill. Mr. Rawat said that the revised draft of the Lokpal Bill and Whistle blower bill will come up on 27th and 28th December and Judicial Accountability Bill on 29th December. Both the Houses will be on holiday from 23rd December to 26th December.
