SEBI Mandates AIFs to Upload NAV Data on Depository Platforms
To strengthen disclosure standards and streamline processes, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has instructed Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) to submit updated Net Asset Value (NAV) details for every ISIN of AIF units on depository platforms. This information must be uploaded through their respective Registrars and Transfer Agents (RTAs).
As per SEBI’s circular, the NAV data must be furnished by May 1, 2026, or within 30 days from the portfolio valuation date, depending on which timeline applies later. In cases where valuation is conducted by an independent valuer, the valuation date will be the date mentioned in the valuation report. Where funds rely on internal valuation, the date recorded in the fund’s own valuation records will be treated as the valuation date.
