If assesee files ST-3 of FY 2010-2011 today then penalty for late filing of return would be applicable as per FY 2010-2011 rules or present rules????

18-Dec-2013 , 04:41:04 pmu r governed by the provision of respective year i.e f.y 2010-2011 but u can claim the benefit of VCES by which u can get rid of penalty.

18-Dec-2013 , 04:59:15 pmSection 70(1) Specify the maximum Penalty of Rs. 2,000/- in respect of return filed up to 31st March 2011. This amount of Maximum Penalty is been increased to Rs. 20,000/- (Twenty Thousand only) w.e.f. 01.04.2011.Hence 20000/- Penalty is applicable
