I am in Dubai, and planning to take with me LED Sony Tv 32". cost 1799 ADE. suggest me what to do.
If i have to pay custome duty on it.

Dear Amit,
I understand that you want to bring a new LED from dubai and it is costing to 1799 AED (i.e. 1799 dirham or approx INR 23000).
As per the baggage rules, you are allowed to import articles from abroad without any payment of custom duty worth Rs. 25,000 if your age is above 10 years and your stay in abroad is more than 3 days (relevant to your case).
Thus, you can import the same duty free from dubai. Further, if you are bringing used LED then there is no restriction of amount. You are also requested to click the following link http://www.cbec.gov.in/travellers.htm., so that you can have more better understanding of the same.

The price in Indian marjet cannot be taken as the same is after suffering custom duty. Therefore, in you case you can bring the same along with you without payment of custom duty.

If the assessee is over 10 years of age and stayed for more than 3 days in abroad other than Nepal. Bhutan, China, Myanmar and Pakistan, then Rs 35000 will be allowed as GFA and on the balance amount u have to pay @35% + Education Cess as custom duty. If he stayed for less than 3 days then Rs 15000 will be allowed as GAF.
