Please Help: Excise query from manufacturing point of view.

Mr A purchased scrap (like plastice carry bag, milk pkt,etc) from Mr.B and Mr convert scrap into plastic dana by using machining activity. Mr. A sold dana To Mr.C which is used by Mr.C for manufacturing of plastic table, chair.use of dana is manufacturing of plastic chair.
In the above case Mr. A covered under Excise law or not(i.e. it is manufacturing activity or not). Pls reply fast alongwith supporting.

03-May-2013 , 10:07:30 amYES, mr a is cover under excise obligation subject to the SSI notification, all plastic granules(danna) covers under tariff chapter 39.and in chapter 39 excise duty is 12%, you can go to CETA and find your suitable product chapter heading.
