For one of our client we have filed the income tax return for AY 2010-11 getting it signed by his legal hier as client had expired tht time, we have got the refund from banglore in the name of client who had died how 2 get refund in the name of legal hier

All the banks accounts and other proceedings of the person who (expired or became insane) should be transferred to legal heirs. In the same way in your case, your client bank account should be transferred to legal heir.

Also submit one letter to the assessing officer mentioning that the assessee has died by submitting death certificate.

Bank account will be transferred in the name of legal heir..

By submiting a latter with death certificate to tax department then they will release a new draft in the name of legal representative.

29-Apr-2011 , 12:12:44 pmWrite to AO with a copy to the CPC Bangalore along with all necessary documents. You are also required to send a copy of application to bank from where the refund has been remmited.

18-May-2011 , 07:35:16 amI am also facing same problem with one of my assessee, i have completed all formalities but still CPC Bangalore is not issuing fresh refund order. Now they have send a letter to A.O. to validate his PAN and A.O. further doesnt know what to do?
