Return for AY 09-10 is now belated and belated return can be filled upto the end of 1 year from the end of relevant A.Y which was 31.03.2011

for assessment year return could have been furnished till 31st march 2011. because section 139(4) of the income tax act, 1961 says that belated return can be filed within 1 yr from end of relevant assessment year.. so now it would be time barred and invalid..

The last date to file return for AY 2009-10 was 31st March 2011 so it cannot be filed now.

17-Feb-2012 , 07:31:18 pmAs per Sec 139(4) belated return can be filed upto the end of one year from the end of relevan Assessment Year . Therefor no return can be filed for A.Y. 2009-10 now since last date was 31-03-2011.
