Can a person who has applied/alloted PAN in PY 2014-15 file belated return with respect to PY 2013-14?
Is there any need of existence of PAN during the PY to which to income relates or we can later on apply for PAN and file belated return?

19-Feb-2015 , 09:53:30 pmyou can only file belated return if original return was filed within the due date. as you mentioned you have applied PAN in FY 1415 which clears that original return was not filed in FY 1314, hence NO you cant file belated return in for PY 1314. Due date for AY 2013-14 was July 2014. if PAN was allotted before July 2014 then also you could have filed return for FY1314 before 31st July 14.
