Whether I can claim Different allowance from My Salary Slip in my Income Tax return ?
I am getting 1) Basic+DA, 2)Academic allowance, 3) HRA, 4)Conveyance/ Car Reimb, 5)Medical Allowance & 6)SP/HR Allowance. I want to replace allowance no 2 & 6 by any other exempted allowance.
Kindly advise me whether it is possible or Not ?

09-Jul-2013 , 05:50:18 pmNo you can't replace any allowance with any other exempted allowance. By the way you don't have to show all these allowances in your return, you just have to add all these amounts and give a gross salary in the return, if you are filing ITR-1.
