Dear Sanjeev,
The section under which TDS needs to be dedcuted depends upon the nature of payment. I would request you to go through the TDS provisions (i.e. Chapter XVII of Income Tax Act, 1961)as the same will help you out in understanding the rationale behind the TDS provisions.

you will have to put in some efforts dear to remember the nature of expenses on which TDS has to be deducted....

01-Oct-2011 , 09:19:37 amDear Sanjeev you have to understand the nature of Expense, remembering of sections of TDS is not big job to do but what in actually require is to understand the nature of expense then only you will be able to apply the TDS Provisions perfectly. For remembering the sections i suggest you to take the printout of TDS Chart and paste the same on your table so that you will be able to see the same at least 5 times in a day, that may help you in retaining the sections.
