Could any body say, how the IDBI Bank Statutory branch auditors would be treated since all the existing auditors got mail from the bank stating that due to take over of the bank by LIC the bank does not come under PSU bank and SBA assignment will not be given.

As confirmed, with RBI. EX-IDBI Branch Auditors names have been forwarded to all Banks (Non- Counting Auditors). If any bank select you for appointment auditors it will be 2 years only.

CA Poojala Naresh kumar - i don't feel ex IDBI auditors will be appointed for only 2 years, as no preference is given to them. No guarantee that 542 audit firms of IDBI bank will be empanelled surly in some bank. if you have any documented information, please share that.

Once the acceptance is taken from the CAs, the list has to be sent to RBI for approval, only after getting the approval the branches will be allotted, it may typically take a week or so, expect the allotment by 25-26th

I presume there will be a change in the audit schedule because of virus issue. Banks may ask us to conduct audit after the situation gets better. however looking at the present situation it is very difficult to gauge when the situation will improve.

sir any updates on other bank letters, when i asked syndicate bank Hyd zonal office, they informed that so far no letters were forwarded to any body due to the bank strikes and other reasons. Is that correct?

Bank audit process is in halt due to corona as per information. It is not over in many regions. It is common sense that no confirmation can be final amidst corona scare. Auditor who confirmed may well be not able to do the audit after a month. Audits can be practically expected in May or June. So final allotments are pending including new appointments.

ICAI President said that bank branch audit date extended to 30th June 2020, earlier it was 20th April 2020.
