CA curriculum to be revised in 2017 - ICAI president
Devraja Reddy, the president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), said here on Saturday that the curriculum and exam pattern of CA courses will be revised from the next academic year of 2017.
Reddy, who was in the city to discuss about the proposed changes in CA courses, said that those appearing for CA exams will have to take test of 400 marks in which equal weight will be given to subjective and objective questions.

Aspirants clearing foundation level will have to sit for an eligibility test to enter intermediate. The revision focuses more on the practical aspects.
Reddy also said that focus will be given on improving proficiency in English in the CA courses so that students can easily find jobs. He said that CA students should focus on articleship properly, because if they do it seriously, only then would they easily find good jobs.
ICAI has been awarded a pilot study project by Indian Railways with Ajmer Division; Ajmer Workshop and the traffic offices at Ajmer as the pilot site. Indian Railways has modified the scope of work and the basic unit will now be North Western Railway headquartered at Jaipur instead of Ajmer Division and Ajmer Group of Workshops, he said. #casansaar (TimesofIndia)
