The incident was reported around 5pm when the two employees of CA Sachin Bansal, identified as Aman and Sonu, were returning to their office on a scooter carrying the cash bag below the seat. They had collected the money from a few clients in Chandni Chowk.
In his complaint, Aman said that while they were about to walk towards their office they were stopped by two men on a motorbike. The men pointed a gun at them and asked them to hand them over the bag containing cash.
When they tried to raise an alarm, the men fired shots in the air and threatening them of dire consequences before fleeing with the cash bag towards Inderlok. Hearing the gunshots, locals chased after the men but they escaped. The pillion rider pointed a gun at the crowd and threatened to shoot at them if they continued the pursuit.
Cops said that Bansal owned a money exchange business in partnership with his friend and dealt with wholesale traders. Preliminary probe suggests that the robbers were aware of the routes taken by the employees and had probably followed them on their way from Chandni Chowk. The roles of Aman and Sonu are also being probed. Aman, a resident of Shahadra has been working with Bansal for the past two years while Sonu had joined a year ago.
A case under sections of the Arms Act and IPC for robbery has been registered at Sarai Rohilla police station. Police are verifying the movement of all history-sheeters of the area, along with the criminals who came out on bail recently. No arrests have been made so far, police said. (Times of India)
