Newly Married Woman CA found dead in hostel
A 27-year-old Chartered Accountant (CA) who was married earlier this month was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her room at a working women's hostel at Somajiguda on Monday.
The victim, Anusha, was a native of Janupally village near Amalapuram in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. She was working as a senior executive (finance department) with Thermo Power Corporation Limited in Banjara Hills. She had got married to Bangalore-based software engineer Arjun on March 8 and returned after the wedding to the hostel on March 23, police informed.
Anusha was staying at the working women's hostel located on the third floor of Sonalika apartment in Somajiguda from July 2014. She stays with eight other women in the three bedroom flat-turned-women's hostel and she shares her room with another working woman, Harshita.
On Sunday evening, Anusha went out of the hostel to meet her brother, who stays at RTC X Roads, and returned at 10.30 pm. Their domestic help, Shaik Moghalabi, 50, gave Anusha milk to drink. After consuming the milk, Anusha went to sleep. She was alone in her room as Harshita had gone to Shirdi.
Her death came to light on Monday at 7.10 am when Harshita returned from Shirdi. "She found Anusha lying unconscious on the bed with froth around the edges of her mouth. After failing to wake her up, Harshita and others called '108' service and the ambulance para-medics declared her dead," assistant commissioner of police (ACP), Punjagutta, M Venkateswarulu said.
Police and the family members of Anusha were alerted about the incident. "We suspect that the victim might have consumed some poison or died of sudden ill health. However, the exact cause of death can be ascertained only after the post-mortem report comes out. She did not leave behind any suicide note and there were no external injuries on the body," the ACP said. Police said that CA Anusha did not say anything to her brother to indicate she was unhappy with life.
Police registered a case under section 174 (suspicious death) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and shifted the body for post-mortem examination. (Times of India)
