GST Council defers decision on tax on real estate

The GST Council deferred a decision on the rationalisation of tax rates on real estate till February 24 as some states wanted a physical meeting before a final decision is taken on the issue.
Briefing media after the 33rd meeting of GST Council held in New Delhi on Wednesday through video- conferencing, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the report of the Group of Ministers on real estate was considered and a final decision on the issue will be taken after a physical meeting.
He said, the deadline for filing summary sales return - GSTR-3B - for January has also been extended by two days to 22nd of this month. He said, in the case of Jammu and Kashmir, it was extended till 28th of February. #casansaar (Source - NewsOnAir)
