Govt is open for further GST Amendments - PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that his government was open to further amendments in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and assured the business community in Gujarat that all GST hurdles will be solved.
He was addressing a massive rally of supporters and BJP workers at Bhat village in Gandhinagar. “I understand the sentiments of Gujarati traders. All grievances and problems of traders and businessmen are being addressed by the GST Council that is simplifying the structure.
It is my word to the business community that old records will not be searched when the businessman adopts GST. We want an atmosphere of honesty that will take our country ahead,” Modi said.
Hitting out at the Congress, who he claimed was an equal participant in implementation of GST, Modi said, “GST implementation is a unanimous decision. All political parties including Congress and States including Congress-ruled Punjab, Karnataka and Meghalaya decided the implementation together. This is not the Prime Minister’s or the Centre’s decision alone.” #casansaar (Source - PTI)
