Delhi one of the most unsafe cities in India, says study
The National Capital has emerged as one of the most unsafe cities along with Patna, Kanpur and Meerut in the country, according to a report by online realty portal 99acres.com.
The report, which was prepared by global market research firm YouGov on behalf of 99acres.com, has found Chandigarh to be safest place in the country, followed by Vadodara, Shimla and Udaipur in terms of crime, law enforcement and terrorism.
The survey, comprising 6,161 samples and 37 cities across the country, placed Meerut at the bottom of the safety parameters assigning 2.39 points in a scale of 0-5, while Delhi came in the 34th position with 2.8 points.
"Delhi along with Patna, Kanpur and Meerut emerged as one of the most unsafe cities in the country," the study said.
In terms of people enjoying better human rights conditions, Delhi ranked 28th position.
In the survey 'Most and least desirable cities to live in India', Chandigarh emerged on top of the list across most parameters that were taken into consideration while arriving at the overall desirability index.
Chandigarh topped the charts of education, health, living conditions, safety, human rights and culture.
Meerut has been placed at the bottom of the lists of many segments such as education, safety, human rights, culture and finance.
As for the National Capital, it was ranked 4th in education, 3rd in health, 10th in living conditions, 6th in culture and 3rd in financial aspects. (PTI)
