Ministry of Labour and Employment released the provisional payroll data of EPFO today. The ministry said that EPFO added 13 lakh 95 thousand net subscribers during the month of November last year, showing an increase of around 2 lakh 85 thousand net additions over the previous month of October last year with a growth rate of nearly 26 percent.
It added, year-on-year comparison of payroll data also shows an increase of around 3 lakh 84 thousand in net payroll additions in November, 2021 as compared to 10 lakh 11 thousand net subscribers added during the previous year in November, 2020.
The ministry said, of the total 13 lakh 95 thousand net subscribers added during the month and 8 lakh 28 thousand new members have come under the social security cover of EPFO for the first time. It added, approximately 5 lakh 67 thousand net subscribers exited but rejoined EPFO by changing jobs within the establishments covered under the purview of Employees Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952.

In an official circular on January 16, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) said the decision to remove Aadhaar was taken following a directive from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
