Chartered Accountants submit Petition to Collector
Tamil Nadu :- Demanding the arrest of culprits involved in the murder of CA. V. Ramesh, members of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) submitted a petition to the District Collector, K. Maharabushanam, here on Monday.
Led by V. Madhukar, Chairman, Salem Branch of SIRC and ICAI, they expressed their anguish over the murder that took place on July 19 and said it was condemnable.
“The attack was aimed at instilling fear in the minds of the people in general and professionals in particular”, they said.
Whether the murder was politically motivated or not, there cannot be any compromise and the perpetrators should to be brought to book, they said. Meanwhile, members of a Muslim organisation had also submitted a petition to the Collector stating that Senior BJP leader L.K. Advani should not speak against their community or hurt the sentiments of the minority people during the proposed condolence meeting to be conducted here on August 1. (The Hindu)
