CBI arrests Agra IT commissioner for duping NAFED
The CBI has arrested the income tax commissioner of Agra, Homi Rajvanshi, for allegedly cheating the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) of over Rs 167 crore when he was posted there as additional managing director of finance.
Five others who connived with Rajvanshi have also been arrested in at least three cases. CBI officials say they are probing 15 cases related toNAFED and Rajvanshi has committed irregularities in most of them.
Rajvanshi allegedly connived with private parties and issued loans without seeking any collaterals. Others who have also been arrested include Lalit Mohan , Vinod Gupta (Joint MD of Zenith Mining Pvt Ltd), S K Jain (CMD of Reliance Polycrete Ltd) and Daulat Singh Chauhan (CEO of ITM Impex Pvt Ltd). The CBI claimed that Mohan was arrested for allegedly cheating NAFED of 59 crore and Gupta for allegedly cheating the federation of 90 crore.
These cases were transferred from Delhi Police to CBI.
