The CBI investigating into the illegal amassing of wealth by Y S R Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today arrested the Vijay Sai Reddy, auditor of Jagati Publication the flagship of Sakshi newspaper and TV channel.
The arrest in the sensational CBI probe against the Kadapa MP and son of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy came after almost a year long investigations into the amassing of wealth by Jagan.
The CBI questioned Vijay Sai Reddy this morning at the Dilkusha guest house, the camp office of the agency and later arrested him in the evening. He is the accused number two in the case against the former congress MP and has been auditor for the YSR family for almost three generations.
CBI had interrogated him for more 37 times and his petition against the validity of the CBI probe has been struck down not only in the high court but also in the Supreme Court.
The CBI has already filed a charge sheet in the designated court against not only Y S Jaganmohan Reddy but also has named the former chief minister Y S R as the principal actor behind whose shadow Jagan had abused office of his father m for alleged quid pro quo investments into his enterprises in exchange for the benefits and concessions in land etc given by the YSR government to the investors into his companies , most of whom were allegedly benami and money laundering enterprises .
Political circles say that arrest of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was not far way as the CBI has already massed huge evidence and witnesses in the case of ill-gotten wealth in the name of his father.
The CBI probe began in Y S jagan case early December after a PIL filed by textile minister Shankar Rao and a preliminary probe lasting three months confirmed the amassing of wealth by misuse of his fathers office.
The CBI has already filed a charge sheet in the EMAAR and is likely to file charge sheet at the earliest in the Jagan case, says VV Lakshminarayana the joint director of the agency. The CBI has filed a report in a closed cover on the preliminary probe ordered by the High court which led to a full scale investigation by the CBI.
