In a tweet, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said: "No document required for update of photograph, biometrics, gender, mobile number & email ID in your Aadhaar. Just take your Aadhaar and visit any nearby Aadhaar Kendra."

For checking the nearest UIDAI-run Aadhaar Seva Kendra and booking an appointment, bearers can visit its website.
However, documents are required for updating some other details which include name, address and date of birth. In a separate tweet, the UIDAI shared a list of valid documents that can be submitted while requesting for an update. People are required to carry original documents for enrollment and no photocopies are required. Original documents will be scanned and returned to the concerned person, the UIDAI mentioned.

The UIDAI also notified that it is strictly against any agencies accepting extra money from residents for any kind of updates. There is no fee for Aadhaar enrolment whereas, Rs 50 is charged for any kind of updates in Aadhaar data.
