PM asks IT Dept to set up mechanism to address grievances of taxpayers
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the Income Tax Department to set up a mechanism to address the grievances of taxpayers. Mr Modi today reviewed the progress towards handling and resolution of grievances related to income tax administration and expressed concern over the grievances.
Interacting through PRAGATI in New Delhi, Mr Modi also asked the concerned officials to use technology to the maximum extent possible, to ensure speedy resolution of issues.
The Prime Minister also reviewed the progress towards implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana. It was informed that 3,214 crore rupees have been collected so far by the 12 mineral-rich States and a much larger amount is expected in due course.
He also directed the concerned officials to work towards a uniform set of processes and procedures for utilization of the funds so that to benefit the backward communities, including tribals, in the mineral rich districts.
The Prime Minister also reviewed the progress of vital infrastructure projects spread over several states including Rajasthan, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir. #casansaar
