TCS, ICICI Bank paid higher advance tax
Information Technology major TCS has declared that it has paid Rs 600 crore as advance tax for the quarter January-March 2013, nearly 10% more than the previous quarter. Last year for the March quarter, the company had paid Rs 545 crore as advance tax, according to information available from the Income Tax department here.
However, ICICI Bank has paid nearly 25% higher advance tax for the march quarter. The bank paid Rs 550 crore as advance tax this quarter against Rs 425 crore paid in the same period last year.
State Bank of India has paid Rs 1,450 crore as foruth instalment of advance tax for FY13. During the period income tax paid at its foreign offices was Rs 160 crore.
Advance tax paid in aggregate in Indian offices during the year is Rs 6,144 crore. With Rs 736 crore paid at its foreign offices, total tax paid during the year is Rs 6,880 crore across all its territories. (Business Standard)
