A 23-year-old chartered accountancy student went missing on his way from Delhi to Hathras on February 18 and his family members are running from pillar to post to trace him.
Family members suspect that the CA student, Shubham Mysori, has been kidnapped, but are clueless about what actually happened. He is said to have boarded a bus to his hometown Hathras in Uttar Pradesh at 6:50 am, from the Anand Vihar bus stop in Delhi.
Police said that after boarding the bus, he spoke to his mother several times. The last conversation took place at 9:40 am, when Mysori told her that the bus had stopped for refreshments.
When he did not reach home the same day, his family members lodged a missing person complaint with the Shakarpur police station on February 19. Police started investigations and found that he last called his mother from the Jewar area of Gautam Budh Nagar, an hour away from his destination.
Following this information from the Delhi Police, his family members went to Jewar and lodged the missing person complaint again. A case was registered and efforts were on to trace him.
Jewar police found the phone was switched off around 10:05 am and the location was tracked to the Tappal area of Aligarh.
Police came to know that Mysori had travelled on his own in the bus up to Lucknow, and investigations are underway to know what exactly took place.
Ajay Kumar Sharma, station house officer of Jewar police station, said, “As we started investigations, two people identified him and informed us that he was found travelling up to Lucknow. We are still investigating the case and are hopeful that he will be traced. The missing person had even good relations with his family and was excited to visit them.”
Friends and family members of Shubham have started a campaign on various social media platforms with the hashtag - #findingShubham. Pictures of him are being circulated for information about his whereabouts, but nothing has emerged so far.
Police have also sent his details to the district crime records bureau (NCRB), the state crime records bureau (SCRB) and the national crime records bureau (NCRB). #casansaar (Hindustantimes)
