Visually challenged beats all odds, passes Inter CA
Yet another visually challenged student has secured a top rank in the all India level examinations held by the Institute of Charted Accountancy of India ( ICAI).
While Guntur boy J Rajasekhara Reddy had hit the headlines by becoming the first visually challenged to complete CA (final) last fortnight, another student from a Guntur private training institute, Ramireddi Viswanath cleared the Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC), popularly known as Intermediate of CA examinations held last November with a high rating.
Viswanath of Guntur Masterminds College secured 402 marks out of 700 in two groups. The results of IPCC were declared on Tuesday.
A jubilant Viswanath attributed his success to his parents and teachers. Viswanath not only overcame his physical disability but surmounted difficulties at home because of the poverty of his parents.
Residents of Kurnool town, Ramireddy Hussain Reddy and Lakshmi Devi have three children all of whom are blind. They faced all odds and brought them up to be successful despite their disability. While daughter Lakshmi Devi settled as a government employee after completing her degree, eldest son Balireddy is pursuing MBA.
Bringing them much joy, their youngest son Viswanath has now completed the IPCC with high percentage in the category and is all set to clear the final leg - CA. He completed primary education in Hindupuram and high school education in Devnar School in Hyderabad and intermediate education at Loyola College in Vijayawada.
Viswanath chose commerce so that he would be able to pursue chartered accountancy. "I decided not to be a school teacher or get a job in the government," Viswanath told reporters here on Wednesday.
"I was inspired by Sameer of Mumbai, who completed CA despite being blind. I met him when I was in SSC in Hyderabad and decided on that day to become a CA," Viswanath said. He thanked his teachers and directors of his college Masterminds, Mattupalli Sivaprasad, Mohan, Prakash, Radha Mohan and NSM Prakasha Rao for his success.
