As per section 141(3), an auditor is disqualified to become auditor if his relative has interest in any company. Definition of relative as in section 2 (77) of companies act read with rule 4 of companies (Specifcation & definition details) rules, 2014 spouse of brother or sister are not included in definition of relative. So, if spouse of brother or sister are 50% shareholder of a company, can our firm be appointed as auditor of that company?
