Please Help: service tax

A contractor provides repair & maintenance services(Repair of sewerage and water pipes etc) to govt authorities. 01.07.2012 onwards this service is specifically mentioned in negative list. I want to know whether this service was taxable prior to 01.07.2012.???

06-Apr-2014 , 05:04:55 pmYes, prior to 01.07.2012, repair and maintenance of sewerage and pipelines was leviable to service tax under "works contract service".
