I paid interest for service tax. Now suggest me at point 4B of ST-3 what should be written in column
source Document No.?

Dear Querist,
Please note that for arrears, interest and penalty, the source document/period is as follows,- (a) in case these are paid suo- moto by the assessee, the period for which such amount is paid may be furnished (b) if paid consequent to a show cause notice (SCN) or order, the source document is relevant SCN No/Demand Notice No., Order In Original No. or Order in Appeal No or any other order , etc.,.

Further, in case you have any other problem in filling the details in ST-3, the please refer to the instructions annexed to ST-3 return (click in following link http://servicetax.gov.in/forms/st3.pdf).

Should you require any other assisstance, feel free to revert.

Dear Anmol/Anil,

The answer to your query is there in the reply. Further, the link was given so as to come over any other problem which you face in filling ST-3. If you click on the link, ST-3 will be opened along with the INSTRUCTIONS. The link was given so that you can go through the instructions.

But system is not accepting any format...... or the format mentioned in link provided by you as "http://servicetax.gov.in/forms/st3.pdf". What should we do now????

You shold leave it blank because it need to be filled only when there is any demand notice or something like that...If you are paying interest suo moto then the same need to be filled/....

If interest is paid suo moto then offline and online utility dont accept any format, better leave it blank. else ashish ji has explained it nicely.
