Q. > Please Help: VAT
A survey took place in delhi by the DVAT authorities. During survey list of physical stock present at there was prepared and the stock was calculated by the DVAT authorities on the basis of GP ratio of the last year. On the date of survey the stock as per list is less than by 2 lacs as compared to stock calculated @ G.P. The department wants to charge sales tax on amount of stock difference. Please advise us weather the department can charge the tax and if so give the case law.
