ICAI Election 2015 - Fresh dates of counting of Votes
As you are aware that due to unprecedented rain in Tamil Nadu, the polling in certain Polling Booths in Southern Region was postponed. The 18th and 19th December, 2015 have been notified as fresh date/s of polling for Chennai City and 19th December, 2015 for other places where polling was postponed. The Notification has been published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary dated 7thDecember, 2015 vide Notification No. 54-EL(1)/12/2015 dated 7th December, 2015.
Arising out of postponement of dates of polling, it would be difficult for the office to monitor and conduct the tasks of counting of votes (which was to commence effective from 16th December, 2015) and polling in certain locations in Southern Region simultaneously. In view of above difficulty, the dates for the following stages of elections for election to the twenty third Council and twenty second Regional Councils are being revised as under:-
1. Dates of counting of votes : 20.12.2015 to 12.01.2016
2. The date of declaration of results : 15.1.2016 (latest)
The required notification is being issued. Please keep visiting our website www.icai.org for updates.
This advance information is being sent to you so that you can arrange your programme accordingly.
As regards the venue for counting and tentative schedule of region-wise counting, a separate communication is being issued.
