FM to inaugurate the biggest Income Tax building at New Delhi
Union Finance Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the biggest office building of the Income tax Department in India. The building will house the offices of salary charges, non-corporate charges, International Taxation, Exemption and other allied charges, accommodating approximately 800 Officers and 1500 staff. It will also have an assessee friendly ASK (Aayakar Sewa Kendra) Centre. Pratyaksh Kar Bhawan at Civic Centre is a ‘green’ building.
It is the tallest building in Delhi, is centrally located and at walking distance from New Delhi Railway Station. The office compound consists of banks, ATMs, post office, & cafeteria and other latest facilities for staff and officers. This complex also has a very large and comfortable waiting lounge for tax-payers/visitors.
The built up area and carpet area of the said building are approximately 52,000 sq. m and 29,000 sq.m respectively (approx).There is a Service Block of approximately 2750 sq.m and 1110 car parking slots (approximately 39,000 sq. m space). This space is made up of one partitioned 28 storeyed Tower Block (E) and 2 six storeyed Blocks (B&D) with 3 level basement parking having escalators, service and passenger elevators and DG Sets for 100% power back up. The campus is spread over more than 12 acres.
The Income tax Department has faced problem of shortage of space for long. Creation of this new state-of-the-art infrastructure shall improve working conditions in the department, boosting the morale of its employees and facilitate better maintenance of records. The Income tax Department seeks to enhance taxpayer services and strive towards the motto of Sevottam with facilities for tax payers/visitors like waiting lounges, Aayakar Sewa Kendra, banks, ATMs, post office, cafeteria etc.
